Launched in 2007, the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program (BECLP) had the vision of improving the early childhood care and education systems in Colorado by identifying, nurturing, and building leadership capacity in existing and future early childhood leaders. Fourteen cohorts successfully completed the program, and 250 alumni have been deployed as changemakers in Colorado. The program was placed on pause in 2021 to allow space for the Buell Foundation to reconsider and redesign the program. We hope to announce future plans early in 2025.Â
The Buell Early Childhood Leaders Network (BECLN) is a coordinated Alumni Network that acts as a vehicle to sustain, enhance and amplify the remarkable success of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program. It does so by supporting the continued professional growth of the individual alumni and by promoting their personal impacts and contributions. BECLN members join together to generate new knowledge, challenge the status quo, and align and leverage their collective voices and actions to create equity, opportunity and educational excellence for all young children and families.Â
