Published on Apr 7, 2026

The Buell Foundation is pleased to welcome Marion Batayte as our new Director of Programs. Among numerous other responsibilities in this role, Marion will provide leadership and oversight across the Foundation’s responsive grantmaking, grants management, and evaluation functions.

Marion has served the early childhood community in Colorado for more than 20 years. Most recently, she worked for 14 years at Parent Possible, where she served as Deputy Director and led statewide program operations, compliance, and evaluation while helping guide strategic initiatives supporting Colorado’s Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters and Parents as Teachers networks.

She began her career in direct service roles with the Colorado Department of Corrections, Gemini Shelter, and Hear Now. Marion earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and an A.S. in American Sign Language Interpretation.

“We are excited to welcome such a strong professional to our team,” said Laura Carlson, Vice President of Programs. “Marion brings an ideal combination of leadership, nonprofit experience, and early childhood expertise that will strengthen the Buell Foundation as it pursues its mission to support Colorado’s youngest children and their families.”

A Colorado native, Marion enjoys hiking with her husband and their crazy border collie and spending time with her son who is pursuing a finance degree at Montana State University.
