The Buell Foundation has provided significant support to early childhood councils for the past several years. Our primary goal has been to preserve the vital infrastructure that councils provide for local communities. The Buell Foundation believes that a strong network of early childhood councils is essential to minimize fragmentation of the complex, multi-domain, early childhood system. Especially in a decentralized state like Colorado, it is essential that local communities have the supports that they need to make decisions and allocate resources wisely.

We are excited to share a new report about the history and impact of Early Childhood Councils in Colorado. Boots on the Ground: Advancing the Shared Vision for Colorado’s Children lays out themes, articles and case studies that demonstrate the many ways that early childhood councils have approached the need for more effective and efficient systems in their local communities.
