Lesa Nesbit is a Program Officer at the Buell Foundation. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the grant review process and cultivating relationships with nonprofit organizations that promote the Foundation’s work. Prior to joining the Buell Foundation she worked in multiple industries, including corporate, education, and non-profit. Most recently, she worked with Families First, a Denver nonprofit that supports the well-being of children and their families. In her role with Families First she facilitated and managed their Parents as Teachers home visiting program and supported the development of a new program designed to support positive connections between parents and their children.

Lesa is also a Buell Early Childhood Leader. In July 2018, she received her graduated certificate as a Fellow in the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program, and she is currently earning her Master of Arts degree in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver that will be completed the Summer 2019. “It is a great honor to be part of a program and organization that works in unison with other stakeholders to create equity, opportunity, and educational excellence for young children and their families.”

Outside of work, Lesa enjoys spending time with her family, pets, and being outside appreciating nature.
