Margo Ellis is the Buell Foundation’s Communications Manager, where she is responsible for expanding and streamlining internal and external communications at the foundation. In this role, she draws upon two decades of experience in writing, editing, and design in publishing, higher education, nonprofits, and associations. Over the past several years, she was Associate Editor and Editor-in-Chief, respectively, for three technical trade magazines in industrial manufacturing and mining. Other prior experience includes communications management at George Washington University in Washington, DC, and also at Cherry Creek Benefits in Englewood, CO. Additionally, Margo was Managing Editor at AAA Colorado/EnCompass magazine and Development Communications Publications Specialist at Northern Virginia Family Service. She’s excited to return to the rewarding work of overseeing communications for a nonprofit.

She is a native Coloradan who loves the outdoors—whether playing tennis, walking the dog, gardening, concert-going, hiking, or camping. Other pursuits include domestic life of keeping up with two teenaged kids, spending time with friends and family, and reading when precious time allows.
